British artist Ben Turnbull’s latest solo exhibition at The Truman Brewery presented a new series of provocative works, dissecting America’s political and cultural mythology through Turnbull’s alter ego, Candidate Q.
Central to the exhibition was the dynamic between Turnbull and his maverick alter ego, Candidate Q. Q represents a raw, uninhibited perspective, transforming Turnbull’s established practice into an experimental playground. Through Q, Turnbull deconstructs familiar narratives, from propaganda to comic book aesthetics, and reassembles them into sharp, provocative statements.
